Bio

Sydney Menees is the owner and breeder at Woodsmoke Samoyeds.  She grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and got her first samoyed, Pippin, at the age of 13 after years of begging for a dog.  Sydney put her obsession with animals on hold for a few years in order to graduate college and law school, and work for a few years.  She got her samoyed Ruby in 2020 with the intention of competing in dog shows with Ruby, which she did with much success.  As a novice handler, Sydney obtained Ruby's Champion and Grand Champion titles.  Furthermore, Ruby won esteemed titles of Best in Specialty Show and Owner-Handled Best In Show.  After completing Ruby's health testing, Sydney completed her first breeding in 2022.  She kept one of the puppies, Kiwi.  Sydney (with her husband and son), Ruby, Kiwi, and two cats divide their time between Washington, DC and the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.

About the name: "Woodsmoke" evokes campfires under the stars and chilly evenings in front of a cozy fire.  Who's the best companion for that?
